Me, Mom & Morgentaler
I was doing some searching for a graphic that I used to have on a t-shirt from one of my favourite all-time Canadian bands: Me, Mom & Morgentaler. (I'm working on a tattoo design this morning) and I found this cool Where are they Now article from the Montreal Mirror.
Morgentalers (or MeMoms) had the best live shows I have EVER been to. Punk/Ska/Polka.... We used to dance until we were soaked. And these guys were not scared of theatrics (cannons, crowd surfing spaceships, Gus in a huge devil costume) One of the highlights of my limited rock & roll life was staying up all night drinking and talking with Gus the lead singer in the apartment that Lemme & I had on Arlington St. in Ottawa. Too bad I didn't always have a camera in those days...
There is a great fan site on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/memomandmorgentaler with some of their songs. I wish "I Don't Want To Be Your Friend" was up there. I know the person that the song was written about.

Why their name is SOOOO rock & roll:
If you are not a Canuk the name isn't quite as bold for you. Dr. Henry Morgentaler led a lot of legal battles for women's issues, specifically on her right to choose.

We have our own website slowly building up at www.memomandmorgentaler.com! And we're playing three shows in November at Club Soda in Montreal. And there's a lively group on Facebook too. Check it out!
I did most of the band graphics, and if I can help you out on that T-Shirt research, lemme know.

I was thinking about the Patoo Patoo t-shirt - with the silhouettes dancing. It inspired a tat that I got this winter. I'm pissed I got rid of that one.
Take care,
